CLEER was born in New York, USA in 2012. According to legend, the founder of this brand is based on the “Quality That Inspires” brand concept, dedicated to delivering pure, clear and natural sound to the earphone brand. Launched the first “NC” series of noise-cancelling headphones in 2013, using the technology of the industry’s leading noise-reduction solution provider PHITEC, and won many awards. Then in 2014, they joined forces with a well-known Swedish design company to inject Nordic classics. The design concept has won many exhibition awards.

The CLEER brand is rich, and we have to evaluate how the product is. After all, wireless noise cancelling headset brands have also launched a lot of products in recent years. For example, Sony WH-1000X has been released to M3, and Bose ’s QC35 has also been launched. Second generation, so what’s so special about this CLEER FLOW, or is it refreshing? Please see the evaluation results.

In terms of packaging, it is relatively streamlined, and there is not much difference compared with brands such as Sony and Bose. The cover shows the shape of this headset. In addition to the Hi-Res gold label at the bottom, several high-quality wireless transmission technologies are also marked. It can be seen that this headset not only supports aptX HD, but also supports Sony’s LDAC. Technology, of course, not to mention Hi-Res, supporting high-resolution audio. In addition, the lower right corner also indicates support for “hybrid noise reduction technology”, so what is “hybrid noise reduction technology”, we will talk about it later.

The back is an analysis of a bunch of technologies and design concepts used. It should be noted that this headset uses the “Ironless coreless” design, which is shown on the right side of the figure below. This technology is a CLEER patented innovation. Type design, can guarantee distortion less than 0.3%. We’ll listen to it later and see if it’s really that great.

The appearance of CLEER FLOW headphones is still pretty and full of fashion. There are two colors, one is dark gray and one is light gray. This time I received dark gray.

CLEER FLOW headphones There is a very interesting place is that you can change the decorative ring, that is, the metal ring on the earphone shell, the original is silver, with gold. When you think silver is not good, change it to gold, also Good choice. And it is very convenient to replace, just rotate the metal ring counterclockwise to remove it, and then put another metal ring to rotate it clockwise to snap it.

The buttons and controls of the CLEER FLOW headphones are concentrated on the left earcup, including the power, noise reduction button and ambient sound button. At the same time, the surface of the left earcup can be played / paused (double-click), volume adjustment (slide up and down), and forward and backward selection. It is easy to control such as music (slide left and right) and has high sensitivity. There is also a headphone jack on the left. If there is no power, you can plug in an audio cable.

The right side has only one charging interface, which uses the MicroUSB interface. I still hope that I can use the USB-C interface for charging. At least I do n’t have to take this charging cable everywhere. After all, the Android mobile phone charging cable now basically uses the USB-C interface. In this regard, Sony 1000XM3 does Better.

The headphone hinge is brushed metal, and the distance it can be pulled is so long, it should be enough.

After the CLEER FLOW headphones are turned on, the noise reduction function is also automatically turned on (the NC green light is on). In terms of connection, it is still very smooth and fast. The front end of the small house uses Sony ZX300. The Bluetooth connection speed is very fast, and the headset can be automatically connected after turning off the headset, which is very intimate. But there is one point, CLEER FLOW supports NFC, but I did n’t find the NFC logo. I do n’t know where the NFC is located. This is a bit unhumane. After searching the manual, I found that it is located on the right earphone case. Hope The next generation will be able to solve this logo issue.

Let’s talk about wearing first. The earmuffs can cover the ears as a whole. However, because I wear glasses and the headphones are relatively compact, the wearing process is not too comfortable. After half an hour, I feel pain in the ears. Maybe because it is new, it has not been used for too long, and the jaws are not loose enough. I believe it will improve after using it for a period of time. However, compared to the Sony 1000X at hand, it is still slightly insufficient.

Let’s talk about “hybrid noise reduction technology” again. This is the technical highlight of CLEER FLOW. It uses four microphones to collect external noise and generate sound signals with opposite waveforms, thereby eliminating annoying low-frequency noise, which can theoretically reduce About 90% of ambient noise. Active noise reduction can reduce ambient noise by about 30dB. After the noise reduction function is turned on during the whole audition, it is true that the ambient sound is basically inaudible, and the other party basically cannot hear you.

When the “Ambient Sound Perception” function is turned on, the “Noise Reduction” function is automatically turned off, and the “Ambient Sound Perception” function has the same two levels as the Sony 1000X series, one is “AMBIENT NORMAL” and the other is “AMBIENT VOICE”. The literal understanding is “Ambient Sound Normal Mode” and “Ambient Sound Voice Mode”. When “Ambient Sound Normal Mode” is turned on, the sound of the surrounding environment can be heard more clearly than the noise reduction environment, such as when walking on the street , You can easily judge the surrounding environment, and the positioning is also very clear and accurate. After turning on the “Ambient Sound Voice Mode”, it will focus on the performance of dialog clarity. Even if you wear headphones, you can use ordinary tones to communicate with Communicate around people. I have the Sony 1000X at hand. Compare the two. The performance of the CLEER FLOW is better. Of course, I don’t have the latest 1000XM3, so I can’t figure out which one is better.

One of my favorite features about CLEER FLOW headphones is that when you remove the headphones from your ears, the music automatically pauses and no longer plays, and when you put it on again, it automatically plays. Compared to many Bluetooth noise-cancelling headphones, this one is more intimate. After all, I sometimes want to take off the headset to talk to people, or take a break, I don’t want to miss the song, but I don’t want to use my hand to control the pause.

After talking about the function, let’s talk about the performance in terms of sound quality.

CLEER FLOW headphones supports LDAC and aptX HD, two high-quality wireless transmission encodings, and also supports Hi-Res high-resolution audio, which is consistent with Sony’s 1000XM3, supports high-quality lossless transmission, and is better than BOSE’s QC35II, after all The latter only supports SBC and AAC. The advantages are very obvious. Of course, if you are not a portable player and an Android mobile phone user, but only an iOS mobile phone user, CLEER FLOW also only supports AAC encoding transmission, and can not perform lossless transmission. This is no different from QC35II.

The overall sense of hearing is relatively clean and transparent after noise reduction. The noise floor control and noise reduction capability should be considered upstream. The bass is relatively thick and has an American style, but the bass will not be cloudy to obscure the human voice and the surrounding musical instrument performance. The resolution is good, the positioning of various instruments is precise and clear, and the background and human voice are at a certain distance, but it is slightly insufficient. In this regard, for me who like to listen to Japanese and Korean songs, it is still a little lacking, but for users who like to listen to European and American style, it is still very good.

In terms of battery life, CLEER FLOW headphones officially says that after charging for 3 hours, it can be used continuously for 20 hours with the Bluetooth noise reduction function turned on. In fact, my use process is almost the same. About 17-18 hours, the results are fairly stable. In fact, if you really listen, you won’t wear it for too long. The average listening time of 4-5 hours a day is already the upper limit.

The overall performance of CLEER FLOW headphones still pleased me, good sound quality, the blessing of LDAC and aptX HD lossless encoding, support for Hi-Res high-resolution audio, excellent noise reduction and ambient sound performance, and overall noise reduction with Sony The Bluetooth headset is similar in function, plus various intimate small functions, let me see the efforts of CLEER FLOW headphones. The only thing that is not very pleasing is the wearing aspect, which is really tighter.

If you haven’t used any wireless noise-cancelling headphones, CLEER FLOW headphones can give it a try, maybe you will love it. If you already have one or more wireless noise-cancelling headphones, then CLEER FLOW may also be one of your choices, because in it, we see a balance: the combination of sound quality and intimate functions.
